Oh BABY! Here we GROW again!! Beyond excited to share that we will be welcoming baby #2 in early December!! I have put together a little Q&A for all the amazing questions y’all have asked about baby #2!
Q: Age difference between the two?
A: They will be 2 years and 2 months apart!
Q: Obviously you’ll be happy with any gender but, do you want a boy so Liam has a brother close in age?
A: I will truly be so happy if baby is a boy or girl! Having another boy that will be so close in age to Liam would be very sweet & so fun. I LOVE being a boy mom! But i’ve also always wanted to have BOTH genders! We shall seeeee!
Q:Will you try to stick to “L” names?
A: Yes I thiiink so! Luke, Laura, Liam, Lacie & baby L.
Q: Wear is you dress from from the pics?
A: TARGET for just $12!!
Q: Were you on birth control? We’re about to try for our first!
A: I haven’t been on bc for years (since 8 or so months before trying w Liam!) So exciting! Good luck!!!!!
Q: Will you change up the nursery theme?
A: Depends on gender! Our nursery accent wall is navy, so if it’s a girl we will repaint. I’ve always loved a more gender neutral nursery!
Q: So happy for y’all! Did you have to “try” longer for baby #2? I’m worried it will take longer than 1!
A: Thank you!! So normal to feel this way with any pregnancy (I did too) and “everyones” timing is different. We started trying in January and found out we were pregnant April 1st. Prayers going up for you mama! I know it can be stressful & upsetting seeing the negative.
Q: Will y’all move? Or have another room?
A: Not moving any time soon! Liam will probably stay in the nursery for a bit while baby sib is in our room. Then, we’ll make the guest room Liam’s room and baby will be in the nursery. We just won’t have a guest room & that’s ok for now. We have an air mattress that we can put in our bonus room!!
Q: So so so happy for you! I love seeing all things pregnancy/ baby. We start IVF in August!
A: Thank you fro being so sweet & encouraging! I’ve said this a million times, but I’ll say it again. I am constantly praying for those of you who are struggling with infertility (of any kind) or pregnancy loss. I truly cannot imagine what you’re going through nor will I pretend to. It hurts my heart some of you are struggling with this unthinkable pain. Please, please know that you are not alone. I am so glad people are being more open about these struggles recently. Love you dearly & want your time to come as “Mommy” SO BADLY!!!
Q: Will you be finding out the gender or waiting?
A: We will def be finding out!!
Q: Were you all trying or was this a “happy” surprise?
A: We started trying in January!!
Q: Do you feel like you’re showing a lot sooner this pregnancy?
A: Oh. 110%. It’s WILD! This was taken at 10 weeks. I’ve always heard you show a lot quicker after the first!
Q: What’s the heart rate?
A: Heart rate was 169!!
Q: How’d you tell Luke and your parents?!
A: This was one of the most asked questions! I tried to get videos this time & they didn’t turn out super great lol! I told my parents while my mom was in the SHOWER lol!! They are SOOOO excited!! Luke was just…. Luke lol, I will share soon!
Q: Is it scary to be getting ready for a 2nd?
A: YES! Liam is my BABY BOY. Like… my whole world. I truly cannot imagine loving another child as much as I love Liam, but everyone swears your heart just grows!! It will be an adjustment for sure, but we are over the moon & are excited to see Liam step into the role of “big bro”!
Q: What symptoms are you having? How do you feel??
A: The first trimester is roooouuugggghhh, but i’m okay! I have been very nauseous (in the afternoon after lunch mostly) & exhausted. I haven’t ever actually thrown up w either pregnancy, so I am very lucky there!! I hate to even complain bc I know others have it much worse or long to be pregnant. With Liam, I felt 100% like myself & GREAT right when I hit the 2d trimester up until the last few weeks. Hoping for the same this time around. Almost there. With Liam, I had EXTREME meat aversions, but I haven’t had that this time as bad!! I’ve been craving cereal & chocolate milk.
Q: Congratulations! Any recommendations on getting pregnant? Trying for 11 months
A: Thank you so much! I am more than happy to share what has worked for us. I actually have a whole blog post about it & the ovulation test strips we used both times. You can read about it here! We did the exact same thing this time around. I would also suggest you talk to your OB! I believe most will start tests after TTC for 12 months. Will keep you in my prayers!
Q: Is this your last baby!? I know God willing, but didn’t know if you were done after this one.
A: Nooooo idea!! Ask me again in a few years! I’m thinking probably not our last baby (God willing as you said)! Luke has a family of 6 kids and I am an only child. We’ll probably meet in the middle!!
Q: Was your first trimester worse with the 1st baby or 2nd?
A: I think I FEEL about the same as I did last time in the first trimester, but it’s a bit different with a toddler at home! When I was pregnant with Liam and absolutely EXHAUSTED and nauseous I could just get in bed and watch TV… not the case this time around LOL! We are still getting in bed at like 8 to chill/watch a show, but when I was pregnant with Liam I pretty much got in bed right when we got home from work! I think it’s good for me to have Liam to “entertain”. We go on a walk every night after dinner, etc. Luke has been great & very understanding of why i’m in such a bad mood these days!!
