Engagement Photos: Formal or Casual?

Hello hello! Me again with another engagement related post + a 10% off deal at the end! I cannot wait to share and compare our two engagement sessions with you all. I loved them both, but they were very different.

When first thinking about getting our engagement pictures done, I wasn’t sure if we should go the formal or casual route. After speaking with our precious wedding photographer, Joy Wildflower Photography, I knew we had to choose something unique to Luke and me.

She encouraged us to choose a location that meant something to us so we could look back at the photos years from now and take us back to where we fell in love.

Luke and I met in college at The University of Tennessee and he lived on Gay Street for a while after college. Needless to say, we have spent a lot of time together in downtown Knoxville and it holds a special place in our hearts. For our first engagement session:

We started off on the rooftop of the Market Square garage…

Made our way down into to Market Square….

Danced into a few alleyways..

(Luke and I are staying at The Oliver Hotel downtown on our wedding night.)

And finished up at the park next to Market Square.

Dress: Pink Lilly Boutique

Our next engagement session was bit more on the casual side – we had a BLAST shooting these. We met at the Campbell Station Park, minutes from our first house together. Luke & I have a feeling we’ll be spending a lot of time here in the near future 🙂

Dress: Dainty Hooligan

Shoes: Tory Burch

Our pup, Lacie, even got to join us for our very first (of many) Graham family photos!!

We of course had to get some mother/daughter shots!!

Something that stands out to me about Joy Wildflower Photography, is that she caters to our needs + her husband works along side her on wedding day. For example, I love bright & happy pictures. She altered her editing style to fit what I was looking for. Also, for pre-wedding festivities/getting ready, Hannah will be with me and my bridesmaids while her husband, Jordan, will be with Luke and the groomsmen.

I hope you enjoyed looking through and comparing our two, very different engagement sessions. Joy Wildflower Photography and I are SO excited to offer you all 10% off of your engagement, wedding, boudoir, or maturity photos, just mention my name 🙂 I couldn’t recommend Joy Wildflower Photography more! I absolutely can’t wait to share our actual wedding photos a few SHORT months down the road!

Please, as always, feel free to drop any questions or comments in the comment section below! Also, I’d love to know which session you liked the best – formal or casual?!

XOXO
