Road Trip Necessities

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Monster. The opinions and text are all mine.

My husband and I have been road trippin’ SO much recently, we feel like pros! Lately, we’ve mainly been traveling back and forth from Nashville because his whole family is there and with the holidays coming up, we want to spend as much time with both of our families! Thankfully, Nashville is only between 2.5 and 3 hours away.

Because of all the road trips we’ve been on, I thought it would be fun to share what we cannot live without when traveling on the road!

I am going to share some of our top road trip necessities in this blog post!

1. Monster Zero Ultra – a must from Publix!

2. Snacks

3. Layers

4. Addicting podcast or playlist

5. Pillow

6. Blanket

7. Maps!!

1. Monster Zero Ultra – as you guys know, my husband and I are obsessed with Monster Energy Drinks. Our go-to drink on the road is the Monster Zero Ultra because they provide us with just enough caffeine with ZERO sugar! I like the “white ones” and “purple ones” and my husband likes the “orange ones!” Also, Lukey drinks a Monster Zero Ultra every single morning before work! He loves this drink over coffee any day. We both love that the drink has zero sugar and doesn’t make us jittery. If I had to choose another Monster drink, it would be the Java Monster Loca Moca. This one is for the coffee lover!

2. Snacks – I always pack us some snacks like protein bars, crackers, granola, nuts, etc. for the car to keep us satisfied on our trip!

3. Layers – 9 out of 10 times, I am wearing leggings on road trips! Let’s be honest.. I basically live in leggings. I also make sure to wear comfy running shoes and LAYERS up top. Especially if I’m going from somewhere cold to somewhere hot.

4. Good podcast or playlist – our go-to podcast recently has been Crime Junkies!! We are addicted. Finding a captivating podcast is KEY for road trips. If not a podcast, listing to your favorite tunes can make the time go by quickly! There’s plenty of streaming services out there for you to find your perfect fit for the long trip.

5. Pillow – unless you’re the driver, of course! I will not leave for a road trip without my baby pillow. My Nanny made me my baby pillow before I was born (over 25 years ago!) and I can’t travel or sleep without it. 😊

6. Blanket – if your spouse is anything like mine, they like the car FREEZING cold!! I also need a blanket to snuggle up to and keep me warm. This along with my heated seats. One of the best inventions is heated seats! Luke makes fun of me because I can have them on for a full 8-hour car ride!

7. Maps – SO IMPORTANT!! I am awful at directions.. I have been using a navigation app recently that I really like! It shows nearby cops and disabled vehicles that you may come across. Also, it will automatically update the route based on traffic and other factors.

We always get our Monster Zero Ultra from Publix. Make sure you pick them up there between 12/7 – 12/20 to take advantage of the 2 for $4 at Publix stores! You can find the flyer with offer details here.

I’d love to know what you guys can’t travel without! Make sure and comment on my Instagram post about this here, so others can see as well. Make sure to include your favorite flavor of Monster Energy and maybe your favorite podcast! I need something to listen to that isn’t so scary..
