Happy graduation to me and happy 25th wedding anniversary to my sweet parents!! We had THE BEST TIME in Jamaica last week I just had to share with y’all!

To celebrate, we booked a trip to Montego Bay, Jamaica. We stayed at the all-inclusive resort Hilton Rose Hall Resort & Spa. We had never been to an all-inclusive before! It was extremely nice not having to worry about bringing your wallet to dinner or that the pina colada was going to be $12 by the pool!

The scary part: allllll you can eat. We definitely took that one too far because the food was delicious!!

My parents will have been married for 25 YEARS on June 4th. They have both provided a stable, successful, and long-lasting example of love. Luke and I have have both learned how to have a successful marriage from them; we couldn’t have asked for a better marriage to look up to (+ Luke’s parents of course). Their relationship has been a constant that our family can depend on even as it grows larger. They are a great inspiration!

I asked my parents to please provide Luke and I with just 10 quick tips for a long-lasting marriage, like theirs!

1. Go to church together! And tithe.

2. Trust each other. Give each other the benefit of the doubt.

3. Communicate in the morning, at lunch, and in the afternoon.

4. Don’t try to change each other.

5. Don’t compare your marriage to other marriages.

6. Give each other space to mess up.

7. Have a weekly date night and quarterly weekend get-away.

8. Fight it out ASAP – do not let anything fester.

9. Ask each other EVERY day, “What can I do for you today?”

10. Continue to learn and grow together.

I always get the question, “Are you a daddy’s girl or momma’s girl?” I am truly both. Being an only child, I grew extremely close to both of my parents. They are my best friends in the world. I tell them EVERYTHING! Although, I’m sure my dad will be happy to add another boy to our family (thanks Lukey!).

One of our favorite things to do on our trip was going for a walk around the beautiful Cinnamon Hill Golf Course in Montego Bay. It ended up being right around a 4 mile walk. And boy let me tell ya.. it wasn’t an easy one! Parts of the course were up in the mountains and other parts were down by the ocean. Interesting fact: Johnny Cash and his wife had a house on this golf course – we walked right by it!!

Another favorite was the SWIM UP BAR! The most popular drink (pictured below) is the Bob Marley!

I asked the bartender for the receipt: start by marking the red portion of the drink by combining 1 oz light rum, 4 oz strawberry daiquiri mix, and 1 cup of ice in a blender. Next, you will need to combine 1 oz of rum, 3 oz of chopped mango, 1 1/2 oz of sweet and sour mix and one cup of ice in a blender. Mix ingredients to create the yellow portion of the drink. Pour only have of the mixture into the glass on top of the red. Take the remaining drink mixture and blend with 1/2 oz of blue curaçao to create the green portion! It is beautiful AND delicious!!
